This happens due to the high increase in sebum production and frequent use of excessive products like pomade. For men with sensitive scalp, this causes hair problems such as dandruff. Proper hair care can help manage dandruff, including the use of a hair tonic containing aloe vera. This research aims to investigate the influence of aloe vera content on dandruff treatment. The study design employed pre-experimental research with a pre-post test group, involving a population of 23 respondents and a sample of 23 respondents selected through total sampling. Statistical analysis utilized paired t-tests with significance set at <0.05. Results from 23 respondents indicated that 19 respondents (82.6%) experienced a decrease in scores, while 4 respondents (17.4%) showed an increase. Statistical analysis revealed significant results with a p-value of 0.000 < 0.05. The conclusion drawn is that the aloe vera content in Multiple Moist Spray has a beneficial effect on treating dry dandruff. Therefore, individuals with dandruff are encouraged to be selective in choosing scalp treatments.
2024-08-10T00:00:00+07:00 Copyright (c) 2024 Mochammad Agung Dhani Setiawan https://ebsina.or.id/journals/index.php/jkki/article/view/336 Successful Aging Among Community-Dwelling Older Adults in Rural Areas of Jember District 2024-09-09T21:42:40+07:00 Adela Hery Prasilia Amalda adelamalda01@gmail.com Fahruddin Kurdi fahruddin.fkep@unej.ac.id Latifa Aini Susumaningrum latifa_as.psik@unej.ac.id
Background: Successful aging is a condition when the elderly not only live long but remain in good health so that they can be independent, and useful. Purpose: This study aims to determine the description of successful aging in the elderly at Karang Werda, Rambipuji District, Jember Regency. Methods: This study used a descriptive observational design with a cross-sectional approach and involved 213 elderly people selected by total sampling. The sample of this research is one elderly who had diabetes mellitus type 2. The data collection by measuring blood glucose levels during pre-intervention in the morning and post-intervention in the afternoon. The elderly had intervention twice a day for 20 minutes and forward until 5 days. Data collected and processed by using statistical T-test dependent. The elderly with diabetes mellitus type 2 given progressive muscle relaxation technique experienced a decrease in blood glucose levels from pre to post intervention with p-value 0.005 which means it is significant. Understanding the determinants of food security can help in designing effective interventions to improve the well-being of rural households. Purpose: This study aims to identify and analyze the key determinants of food security among rural households, focusing on dietary diversity, land ownership, and other socioeconomic factors. Methods: The dataset used in this study includes variables such as gender, marital status, education, land ownership, food crop cultivation, meal frequency, age, food source, Food Security Index (FSI), and Household Dietary Diversity Score (HDDS). Multiple linear regression analysis was conducted to explore the relationships between these variables and the FSI. Additionally, a Random Forest Regressor model was employed to predict the FSI and to determine the importance of each feature. Results: The multiple linear regression analysis revealed that HDDS has a significant positive relationship with the FSI (p<0.001), indicating that higher dietary diversity is associated with higher food security levels. Other variables, such as education and food source, showed weaker correlations with food security. The Random Forest Regressor model achieved an R-squared value of 0.495, with feature importance analysis indicating that HDDS, food source, and age are the most influential factors in determining food security. The Mean Squared Error (MSE) of the model was 10.743. Conclusion: This research highlights the crucial role of dietary diversity and socioeconomic conditions in shaping food security outcomes in rural areas. The findings provide valuable insights for policymakers and stakeholders aiming to enhance food security and dietary quality in rural communities. Further studies are recommended to explore the complex interactions between these variables and to develop targeted interventions to improve food security.
2024-08-16T00:00:00+07:00 Copyright (c) 2024 Fitrio Deviantony, Erti Ikhtiarini Dewi, Yeni Fitria, Enggal Hadi Kurniyawan https://ebsina.or.id/journals/index.php/jkki/article/view/341 Community Nursing Care: Unhealthy Lifestyle as A Risk Factor of Hypertension in Older Adults in Rural Areas 2024-09-11T11:41:48+07:00 Marsya Nurrahmawati marsyanrw@gmail.com Hanny Rasni hanny_r.psik@unej.ac.id Revy Dwi Citra Lindawati marsyanrw@gmail.com
Introduction: Adults-elderly habits of unhealthy lifestyles increase the risk of hypertension. Patients with heart failure disease may experience swelling (oedema) in certain parts of the body, especially the lower extremities. Oedema that is not treated will exacerbate damage to the circulatory system. One of the treatments for lower extremity oedema in heart failure patients can be done by giving compression therapy. Purpose: The purpose of this study is to determine the effectiveness of compression therapy on lower extremity oedema in heart failure patients. Method: This research is a case study that managed one patient with heart failure disease who has lower extremity oedema. Data collection was carried out by observation, interview and provision of interventions carried out for 4 days using moderate pressure (20-30 mmHg). This research use compression stocking for 18 hours within 24 hours. Compression therapy is given once a day that the stocking is used at 14.00 WIB and removed at 08.00 WIB on the following day. The instrument used in this study was the pitting oedema observation sheet. Result: The results of this study were a decrease in the degree of pitting oedema in patients from a value of +3 with a depth of 5 mm in a return time of 65 seconds to a value of +1 with a depth of 1 mm in a return time of 2 seconds. Conclusion: Compression therapy is effective in reducing the degree of pitting oedema in patients with heart failure. Compression therapy has optimal effectiveness on the third day of intervention. Therefore, this therapy is highly recommended to be applied in the inpatient room, especially in patients with heart failure who have oedema in lower extremity.
2024-08-20T00:00:00+07:00 Copyright (c) 2024 Irdina Batrisyia, Jon Hafan Sutawardana, Muhamad Zulfatul A'la, Iwan Setiawan
